At Cornerstone Church, we believe truth matters because God has spoken in His Word.

Some people visit our church knowing exactly what they are looking for doctrinally. Others are just beginning to ask questions about Jesus, the Bible, and what Christians believe. We want this page to serve both.

In short, we believe the Bible is true, Jesus Christ is Lord, salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, and the church is called to make disciples for the glory of God.

Everything we believe is shaped first by Scripture. We gladly stand in the historic Christian faith and hold to Baptist and Reformed convictions. For those wanting greater doctrinal clarity, our beliefs are consistent with historic Baptist confessions such as the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith and the Baptist Faith & Message 2000. These do not replace Scripture, but help summarize what we believe the Bible teaches.

Our Beliefs

The Bible
The Bible is the inspired, trustworthy, and sufficient Word of God and our final authority for faith and life.

God
There is one true God who exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man, who lived sinlessly, died for sinners, rose bodily from the grave, and will return in glory.

Humanity and Sin
Every person is made in God’s image, yet all have sinned and stand in need of salvation.

Salvation
Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. It is the gift of God, not the result of our works.

The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit gives new life, indwells believers, and conforms them to Christ.

The Church
The church is the body of Christ, called to worship God, build up believers, and make disciples.

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
We practice believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Supper as ordinances given by Christ to His church.

Leadership
We believe the church is to be led by biblically qualified elders and served by biblically qualified deacons.

Marriage and Family
We believe God’s design for marriage, family, and sexuality is good, wise, and revealed in Scripture.

The Mission
The church is called to proclaim the gospel and make disciples of all nations.

The Return of Christ
Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly to judge the living and the dead and to make all things new.

Our Heart

We are not interested in using doctrine to impress people or create barriers. We believe sound doctrine leads to worship, holiness, love, endurance, and mission.

If you are new to church, you do not need to have everything figured out before coming. If you are looking for a church with doctrinal clarity, we want you to know we take God’s Word seriously. We want to be a church where truth is clear, Christ is central, and people are lovingly discipled in the Word of God.
