Finding a church home is one of the most important decisions you can make for yourself and your family. Whether you're new to the East Cincinnati area, returning to church after years away, or looking for a congregation that faithfully teaches God's Word, ask yourself: What should I look for in a church?
With so many churches throughout Eastgate, Amelia, Batavia, and Clermont County, it's easy to begin your search with location, service times, music, or children's programs. While these things matter, Scripture calls us to consider something far more important.
Is this church built on Jesus Christ and faithful to His Word?
The most important thing about a church isn't its building, programs, or personality. It's what is being taught from the pulpit.
Paul instructed Timothy:
"Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching." — 2 Timothy 4:2
A healthy church doesn't simply use Scripture to support inspirational messages. It opens God's Word, explains its meaning, and calls people to respond in faith and obedience.
At Cornerstone Church of Cincinnati, we believe Scripture is our authority. That's why we're committed to expository preaching, working through biblical passages in their context so that God's Word shapes our lives rather than our preferences shaping God's Word.
The central message of Christianity isn't that we need to become better people. It's that sinful people need a Savior.
The Bible teaches that we are sinners separated from God, unable to save ourselves through good works or religious activity. Yet in His mercy, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, who lived a sinless life, died for our sins, and rose again.
Salvation is by God's grace alone, through faith in Christ alone.
A faithful church will never move beyond this message because the gospel isn't merely the starting point of Christianity. It is central to everything we believe and do.
Jesus didn't command His church simply to gather crowds. He commanded us to make disciples.
In Matthew 28:19–20, Jesus calls His followers to make disciples, baptize them, and teach them to obey everything He commanded.
Biblical discipleship is more than attending a Sunday service. It means growing in our understanding of Scripture, learning to follow Christ, praying together, serving one another, and helping others do the same.
At Cornerstone, we want to see people grow from simply attending church to becoming mature disciples who make disciples.
The church isn't a building we visit once a week. It's a people Christ has redeemed and brought together as His family.
Ephesians 2:19 reminds believers that we are no longer strangers and aliens but members of God's household.
That means church membership, fellowship, prayer, accountability, and serving one another aren't optional extras in the Christian life. They are part of how God designed His people to grow together.
A healthy church is a place where people are known, loved, encouraged, and challenged to become more like Christ.
A biblical church should care deeply about the community God has placed around it.
We believe God has called Cornerstone Church to serve families throughout Eastgate, Amelia, Batavia, Withamsville, and the greater West Clermont community.
Our desire isn't simply to establish another Sunday gathering. We want to faithfully proclaim Christ, serve our neighbors, strengthen families, and see lives transformed through the gospel.
We want our community to know that there is hope in Jesus Christ.
Cornerstone Church of Cincinnati is a new church gathering every Sunday at Willowville Elementary School in the West Clermont community.
We are a congregation committed to the faithful preaching of Scripture, intentional discipleship, fervent prayer, gospel-centered community, and the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ.
Our foundation is simple:
Christ is our Cornerstone.
We don't claim to be a perfect church. We're a people who desperately need God's grace, seeking to worship Him faithfully and grow together in Christ.
If you're searching for a church in Eastgate, Amelia, Batavia, or anywhere on Cincinnati's Eastside, we'd love to welcome you.
