A Church Where Children Are Welcome

Finding a church for your family involves more than choosing a convenient Sunday service. Parents want to know their children will be safe, welcomed, and faithfully taught the Bible. At Cornerstone Church of Cincinnati, we believe children are an important part of the church today, not simply the church of tomorrow. Our desire is to help children know God's Word, understand the gospel of Jesus Christ, and grow alongside their families in the life of the local church. If you're searching for a church with kids ministry near Eastgate, Amelia, or Batavia, we'd love to introduce you to Cornerstone Kids.

What Is Cornerstone Kids?

Cornerstone Kids is our children's ministry for infants through fifth grade. Our goal is simple: to partner with parents in teaching children the truth of Scripture and pointing them toward Jesus Christ. We believe children at every age can begin learning about God's character, His Word, and His plan of salvation. Our ministry is organized into age-appropriate environments that support biblical instruction while recognizing the important role of parents in their children's spiritual development.

Nursery | Infants and Toddlers

Our nursery provides a caring and welcoming environment for our youngest children throughout the Sunday worship gathering. We understand that leaving an infant or toddler in a new environment can be difficult, especially for first-time guests. Our desire is to provide attentive care so parents can participate in worship knowing their little ones are being cared for.

Preschool | Ages 3–5

Our preschool ministry introduces children to foundational biblical truths through age-appropriate Bible lessons, songs, and activities. At this stage, we want children to begin understanding who God is, what the Bible teaches, and why Jesus Christ is central to the Christian faith. Our goal is not simply to occupy children during the service but to establish an early foundation for understanding God's Word.

Elementary | Kindergarten–5th Grade

Our elementary ministry takes a slightly different approach. Rather than separating children from the congregation for the entire service, we invite elementary-aged children to begin Sunday mornings worshiping alongside their families. They participate in congregational singing, hear Scripture read, observe prayer, and witness the church gathering around the Lord's Table. Before the sermon, children have the opportunity to attend Cornerstone Kids for a Bible lesson designed for their age group. Parents who prefer to keep their children in the worship gathering for the entire service are always welcome to do so.

Why We Worship Together as Families

One of the distinctive aspects of Cornerstone Church is our commitment to intergenerational worship. We believe children benefit from seeing their parents and grandparents worship the Lord. When families sing together, hear Scripture read, pray, and observe communion, children begin to understand what it means to belong to the gathered church. Scripture repeatedly emphasizes the importance of passing God's truth from one generation to the next. Deuteronomy 6:6–7 instructs parents to diligently teach God's Word to their children, while Psalm 78:4 calls God's people to declare His mighty works to the coming generation. For this reason, our elementary children participate in the opening portion of our Sunday gathering before being invited to their own Bible lesson. We don't believe children are a distraction from worship. We believe they are a blessing to the church.

What Will My Children Learn?

At Cornerstone Kids, we believe children's ministry should be more than entertainment or lessons about good behavior. Our teaching is centered on the Bible and the gospel of Jesus Christ. We want children to understand who God is, why humanity needs a Savior, what Jesus accomplished through His death and resurrection, and what it means to follow Him. As Paul reminded Timothy, the Scriptures he knew from childhood made him wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 3:14–15). Our desire is not merely to teach children to be good but to faithfully teach them the good news of Jesus Christ. Every lesson is an opportunity to help children develop a growing understanding of God's Word and His redemptive plan.

Your Child's Safety Matters

We understand that trusting a new church with your children is a significant decision. When you arrive at Cornerstone, our team will help you find the Kids & Guest Check-In area, register your children, and direct them to the appropriate classrooms. We want parents to feel comfortable asking questions, meeting our volunteers, and understanding how our children's ministry operates. Our goal is to provide a welcoming and attentive environment where children are cared for, and parents can participate in worship. We believe caring for children responsibly is an important expression of Christian love and stewardship.

What to Expect on Your First Sunday

Visiting Cornerstone with children is simple. Our church meets every Sunday at 10:00 AM at Willowville Elementary School in Batavia, Ohio, conveniently located for families throughout Eastgate, Amelia, Withamsville, and Clermont County. We recommend arriving 10–15 minutes early if you'll be checking children into Cornerstone Kids for the first time. Our Welcome Team will help you find the children's check-in area and answer any questions. Nursery and preschool ministry are available throughout the gathering, while elementary children begin in the main service with their families and have the option to attend Cornerstone Kids before the sermon. Our worship gathering typically lasts approximately 60–70 minutes and includes singing, Scripture reading, prayer, communion, and biblical preaching. And if your children make a little noise during worship, that's okay. We're glad they're here!

Partnering with Parents in Discipleship

We believe the primary responsibility for teaching children about Christ belongs to parents. Ephesians 6:4 calls fathers to bring up their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, and the church has the privilege of coming alongside families to encourage and support that responsibility. Our desire is for what children learn on Sunday to continue throughout the week through family prayer, Bible reading, and conversations about the gospel. Children's ministry should support discipleship in the home, not replace it. We want to help families build a foundation of faithfulness to God's Word that extends far beyond Sunday mornings.
