The Mission We Are Sent On

In Week 3 of Foundations at Cornerstone Church, we begin to see where God’s saving grace leads.

God does not rescue His people simply to gather them. He gathers them in order to send them.

From the beginning, the mission of the church has been clear: to make the glory of Christ known. The church does not exist primarily for comfort, tradition, or personal preference. It exists so that the name of Jesus would be proclaimed among the nations.

Jesus Himself gave this command to His people: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.”

This mission belongs to the whole church. Every believer is called to bear witness to Christ, wherever God has placed them. Some will go across the world, others across the street, but all who belong to Christ share in His mission.

The early church reminds us that this work is not accomplished through human strength. It advances through faithful proclamation, fervent prayer, generous sacrifice, and the power of the Holy Spirit.

God still builds His church in this way.

Because of grace, we are saved.
Because of Christ, we are gathered.
Because of His command, we are sent.

This is what God is doing: raising up a people who love His Word, who live as disciples, and who carry the gospel to the world.

Saved by grace. Built together as His church. Sent for the glory of God.
