In Ephesians 2:19–22, Paul reminds us that those who were once strangers and outsiders are now fellow citizens with the saints and members of God’s household. Christ doesn’t simply bring us near to God; He brings us home.
We are now part of God’s family.
But God’s household must be built on the right foundation. Paul tells us that the church is built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the Cornerstone. We do not need a new foundation. God has given us His Word, and Scripture alone is our final, infallible authority for faith and practice.
Everything must align with Christ. We don’t change the Word to fit our lives. We let the Word change our lives.
And God is not simply building individuals. He is building a people. In Christ, we are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit. Willowville isn’t the church. We are the church.
BIG IDEA: God’s church must be built on His Word with Christ as our Cornerstone.
