In Galatians 4:1–31, Paul reminds believers that through faith in Jesus Christ, we are no longer slaves but sons and heirs of God. Christ has redeemed us from the bondage of the law and brought us into God's family through adoption. Our standing before God rests upon His grace, not our religious performance.
Paul warns the Galatians against returning to the slavery of works-based righteousness. He reminds them that faithful ministry seeks to see Christ formed in believers and that God's inheritance comes through His promise, not human effort. Through Christ, we are children of the promise, called to live in the freedom He has secured.
KEY TRUTH: Through faith in Jesus Christ, we are no longer slaves but sons and heirs of God. Our inheritance rests upon God's promise, not our performance.
