When you hear the phrase "church plant," it might sound unfamiliar or even intimidating. But at its core, a church plant is simply a group of believers coming together to start a new work for the glory of God in their community. It's about taking the gospel into neighborhoods, schools, and workplaces where the light of Christ is needed most.

You may already be faithfully attending a church, but perhaps you've sensed a stirring in your heart. Maybe God is nudging you to step out in faith, share the gospel with greater boldness, or serve in a new way. For many, joining a launch team is the very step God uses to reignite their passion for Him and His mission.

And here's the reality: church plants are one of the most effective ways to reach people who don't yet know Christ. Studies show that new churches reach more lost people than established ones. Why? Because new churches naturally invite curiosity. People want to see what's happening. They show up, hear the gospel, and often surrender their lives to Christ.

Why Church Plants Matter

When God calls a new church into being, He doesn't just gather believers who are already strong. He brings together the broken, the hurt, and the curious. Some come from past church hurt, longing for a fresh start rooted in truth. Others may have grown comfortable with Christ, but sense God calling them back into mission. And many who don't yet believe find themselves drawn to the work simply because something new is happening in their community.

The result? Baptisms, new disciples, and the formation of a fresh flock of believers. This is why we plant churches, not because it's trendy, not because we want to build platforms, and certainly not because we want to make money. We plant churches because the gospel is still the power of God for salvation (Rom. 1:16) and because God is still building His church to the ends of the earth.

What’s Happening at Cornerstone

At Cornerstone Church, we already see God's hand at work. Ten families have committed to the launch team, and several more are praying about joining. Our goal is to have five to ten more families before January.

Starting in January, we'll gather for worship, discipleship, and vision casting. These nights will shape our culture as we grow in God's Word, build ministry teams, and prepare to serve our community. In the summer of 2026, we'll hold four preview services, giving our team the chance to invite neighbors and friends. Then, on September 13, 2026, we will officially launch Cornerstone Church, a new outpost of gospel ministry in Clermont County.

Why You Should Join

Joining a launch team is about more than filling a seat. It's about stepping into God's story, bringing your gifts, time, and family into laying a foundation that will impact future generations, and saying yes to community, discipleship, and mission.

Conclusion

So why join a launch team? Because God is still calling His people to go, proclaim, and build. A launch team is one of the most exciting and faith-stretching ways to participate in His mission. Don't miss the chance to be part of something new that He is doing in Clermont County.

Join us at our next Interest Meeting on October 26th to hear the vision, meet the team, and prayerfully consider joining Cornerstone's launch team. Let's lay the foundation for a church that will make Christ known for decades to come.
